MERRIMAC, MA: Marjorie L. Handerson, 90, died February 20, 2011 at Merrimack Valley Hospital. She was born in Haverhill in 1921, the daughter of William and Nellie Cobb.

Marjorie and her late husband Clifford moved to Merrimac in 1948 from Ayers Village in Haverhill. Marjorie was a homemaker who also enjoyed crafts and reading.

She leaves two sons, Robert W. Handerson and his wife Gretchen of Merrimac and James D. Handerson of Romulus, MI; grandson, Brett Handerson and wife Olivia of Boston; sister, Leah Lucia of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie also shared a special friendship with her roommate Molly at Penacook Place for several years. Marjorie was predeceased by her brothers, Irving and William Cobb, and sister, Evelyn Flanders.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, February 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. A springtime interment at Hillside Cemetery will be private. Marjorie's family would like to thank the staff at Penacook Place for their kindness and care over the last several years.
