HAVERHILL - Maria Yannopoulos, 83, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 after losing the battle with Cerebrovascular Disease.

Maria was born in Greece on March 28, 1941. She moved to America in 1965 with her family, sons Louis and Angelo and husband Sotirios to start a new life full of opportunities. She was able to make a good living here and successful career and made lots of friends. She was a very kind hearted passionate and outgoing woman and loved by her family and community and will be greatly missed by all. Maria loved traveling to Greece, Canada, Cape Cod, Nantasket (Hull), visiting her cousins and to California to visit family. She also loved cooking and entertaining at her home, listening to music and dancing.

Surviving family members include her husband Sotirios Yannopoulos; son Louis Giannopoulos; grandchildren Angela O'Neil, Steven Giannopoulos, Carole and Andreas Giannopoulos and Nicole Fazio; great-granddaughter Isabelle Giannopoulos; and great great-granddaughter Jaylise Marie Nunez; loving sister Panagiota Tagis; niece and nephew Evy and George Tagis; mother of the late Angelo Giannopoulos who passed in 2021.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, in Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter Street, Haverhill from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
