HAVERHILL - Maria E. (Cruz) Joubert, 78, longtime Haverhill resident passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Haverhill in 1969.

Loving wife for 58 years of Julio Joubert, Sr.

Her activities included playing bingo at the Haverhill Senior Citizens Center; she was an avid Red Sox fan; but most of all, she enjoyed spending time her family.

Maria is a parishioner of St. James Church, Haverhill.

Her surviving family members in addition to her husband include her loving children, Julio Joubert and partner Karen Guadalupe of Haverhill, Jose Joubert and wife Migdalia of Haverhill and Maria Diaz and husband Jessie of Salem, NH; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; mother of the late Juan Figueroa.

Her funeral will be held Friday morning, August 29, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford at 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 12:00 PM. Interment in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill. Visiting hours will be Thursday in the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
