HAVERHILL: Maria Escalera Gonzales, 88, passed away on January 18, 2019 at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on November 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Luis A. Gonzales and Eduviges Escalera.
Maria had a long and successful career as a cook in the restaurant industry.
Maria is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Margarita, Aida, Sonia, Yolanda, Wilfredo, Mayra, Soralla and Mireya. Maria was the mother of the late Wanda Alvarez.
