BRADFORD - Marguerite "Honey" (Langlois) Johnson, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Mimi on Thursday evening, March 27, 2014.
Honey was born in Haverhill on October 3, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Edmond and Elizabeth (Anderson) Langlois and the loving wife of the late Robert A. Johnson with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Honey attended the Lowell Avenue School in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School Class of 1937. She grew up one of eleven children of French-Canadian immigrant parents and although the family often had very little, she remembered her younger years with fondness, always seeing the brighter side of any situation. Following high school she worked at various businesses in Haverhill and Lawrence. After her marriage in 1944, she and Bob settled in the Bradford section of Haverhill and she lived there for over sixty years. She was a stay-at-home mother while raising her five children and later returned to work in the insurance business at The King Davis Agency, Haverhill and later at Costello Insurance in Bradford. She was a lifetime member of Court Sacred Hearts Catholic Daughters of America, a member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women, a volunteer at the former Hale Hospital, and an active member of the Class of 1937 Reunion Committee.
Honey was a wonderful and devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. She was noted to be an excellent cook, proficient seamstress, exceptional homemaker and competent businesswoman. She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her five children, Robert E. Johnson and his wife Mary Dunnwald of Haverhill, Janet E. Blinn and her husband Michael of Newton, NH, Martha J. Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Bradford, Cynthia J. Crivaro and her husband Michael of Bradford, and Naomi J.
