Obituary

HAMPSTEAD, NH: Mabel E. Emerson, 91, of 83 Emerson Avenue, died Thursday, January 19, 2011.

Born in Hampstead on September 28, 1919, Miss Emerson was the daughter of the late Jesse M. and Alice (Clark) Emerson, and lived in the town most of her life.

Miss Emerson graduated from Hampstead High School and Keene Teachers College. She continued her education receiving a Masters of Education at Boston University. As a teacher she taught in Lime and Hampstead, NH and Haverhill, MA where she retired. She was a 77 year member of the Hampstead

Congregational Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Following her retirement she assisted her sister, Mildred, in organizing the Drop-In Center and Women's Fellowship at the church. Miss Emerson was a member of the Women's City Club of Haverhill and a Bowling League.

Miss Emerson was predeceased by her sister Mildred, and is survived by many cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 19th at 11:00 am, at the Hampstead Congregational Church which will be officiated by the Rev. Ed Koonz and the Rev. Janice Howe. Interment in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hampstead Congregational Church, P.O. Box 158, Hampstead, NH 03841.
