HAVERHILL - M. Gertrude Binette, 85, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at her residence for the last five years, the Stevens-Bennett Home, surrendered by her family and friends.

She was born in Lawrence, daughter of the late Phillip and Emma Ouellette.

She was educated in the Methuen and Lawrence School Systems and graduated from St. Anne's High School, Lawrence.

She was a well-known seamstress throughout the greater Lawrence area. For the last twenty-five years, Gertrude was a receptionist at the Andover Inn, where she retired.

Gertrude loved the ocean; many memorable moments were made there with family and friends. She also loved to travel, which she did throughout her life.

She will be missed by her three children; son Stephen Binette and spouse Kim, daughters Lisa Makin and spouse Daniel, Diane M. Lyons and spouse Brett; five grandchildren, Alex Binette, Melissa, Daniel, Michelle and Dillon Makin; two great-grandchildren, Desirae Makin and Tyler Makin.

All are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in honor of Gertrude on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Stevens-Bennett Home, 337 Main Street, Haverhill, MA.
