HAVERHILL - Louis E. Pelletier, 82, passed away on July 8, after a long battle with cancer. Born in 1931, he was the son of the late Conrad and Leonida (Plante) Pelletier.
Mr. Pelletier was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University. He was a member of the US Naval Reserves.
He was employed for many years by Polaroid Corporation in their Engineering Department. After Polaroid closed, he became an entrepreneur and real estate developer who built several homes in the East Derry, NH area. He also worked for many years as an installer for Crystal Hills Water Systems, a company owned by his late brother Andre J. Pelletier. He was a self taught handyman who could fix or repair almost anything.
Mr. Pelletier was a communicant of All Saints Parish, Haverhill.
He held a pilot's license and enjoyed flying single engine aircraft. During retirement, Mr. Pelletier enjoyed visiting friends and family. He also enjoyed making difficult jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his long-time companion Rita Ferullo of Haverhill; son, David Pelletier and his companion Janet Angelo of Salem, NH; daughters, Denise Morin and her husband Richard of Dunbarton, NH, Janice Caputo and her significant other Bob Sgroi of Salem, NH and Debra Hughes of Haverhill; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Daniel Pelletier and his wife Amelia of Miami, FL; sisters, Marie Tetler of Hampton, NH, Theresa Gorey and her husband Robert of Andover and Cecile Eisenhauer and her husband Peter of Lincoln, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Pelletier, Andre Pelletier, Beatrice DeKavis and Estelle Puzzo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, July 13 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street (Rte. 125), Bradford from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 11:00 AM.
