Obituary

HAMPSTEAD, NH - Lois P. (Chase) (Jendrick) Knight, 94, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 14, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare of Exeter.

Mrs. Knight was born in Haverhill on December 19, 1918, second of four children of Murray and Josephine (McBride) Chase. She was raised in Haverhill, and attended Haverhill Schools.

Mrs. Knight was married to Edmund Jendrick for many years until his passing in 1973. They began to raise their family in Newton Junction, NH, having nine children.

Mrs. Knight then married Joseph L. Knight after meeting as part of a square dancing group. They had resided in Hampstead, NH since 1983, previously residing in Danville, NH from 1968 through 1983. While in Danville, she and her husband Joe continued to raise their combined families together.

She had worked for several area nursing homes assisting with the care of the elderly. After retirement, they became even more involved with their Parish of St. Anne Church, Hampstead, NH, volunteering for many activities; she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. They enjoyed traveling and visiting with family throughout this Country and Canada, including special trips to Poland Spring, Maine, the White Mountains, and trips to Prince Edward Island, Canada. They volunteered and provided music and entertainment for many church and community functions throughout the area.

Her surviving family members include her loving children, Robert Jendrick and his wife Kathy of Phoenix, AZ, David Jendrick and his wife Nancy of Martha's Vineyard, Dennis Jendrick of Manchester, NH, Peter Jendrick of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada, Daniel Jendrick of Hampstead, NH, Valerie Knight of Haverhill and Kenneth Knight of Manchester, NH; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; mother of the late Edmund "Sunny" Jendrick, Jr., Joanne Cline, James Jendrick, Michael "Wayne" Jendrick and Karen Goodwin; sister of the late Barbara Butler, former Haverhill Mayor Paul Chase and Allan Chase.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 19, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Bradford at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, NH. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street (Rte. 125), Bradford, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
