GROVELAND - Lisa Schaefer, 80, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed peacefully March 11, 2016 in Newburyport, MA.

Longtime resident of Connecticut, Lisa owned and operated with her husband, Henry, the Carvel Ice Cream store on Route 7 in New Milford, CT for over 25 years. After retiring to Fort Myers Beach, FL in 1992, Lisa enjoyed traveling and spending time with her many friends in Florida and Connecticut. She became the main caregiver for her husband Henry after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease until his death in 2009, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Lisa moved to Massachusetts in 2013 to be closer to family and enjoyed being in New England once again.

She is predeceased by her parents Otto and Martha Maeker of Fort Myers Beach, FL and she leaves behind her sons Henry Schaefer and wife Regina of Tulsa, OK and Thomas Schaefer and wife Ann of Groveland, MA and her three grandchildren, Lyssette, Collin and Eric Schaefer.

Celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
