HAVERHILL - Laurie Mae (Stevens/DeCoito) Kotis, 73, of Haverhill, passed away on March 10, 2020 at home with loved ones by her side.
Laurie was born on December 16, 1946 in Georgetown to Robert E. Stevens and Wanita A. (Brown) Stevens. She graduated from Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury.
Her passion and gift to others was always good old fashioned home cooking for one or many. She was a devoted waitress and cook most of her life and had the opportunity to own two restaurants, one being "Nana's Place" downtown Haverhill. She enjoyed the sound of the ocean, boating and occasional fishing, camping with her family, corn hole, cribbage, LCR, and being surrounded by her family.
Laurie is preceded in death by her parents Robert E. Stevens and Wanita A. (Brown) Stevens and her sister Joan J. (Stevens) Auricchio.
Laurie is survived by her sister Patricia A. (Stevens/Osgood) Jarnagin; significant other John Randall; her children Tammy L. Malone and husband Paul, Robert F. DeCoito, Tina M. O'Connor and husband Patrick, Tanya Elliott-Hannon and significant other Joseph Hannon and Theresa D. Appleton; grandchildren Christopher Malone and wife Kelly, Timothy Malone and wife Timisha, Stephen, Mathew and Landon DeCoito, Jack and Molly O'Connor, Kassandra Elliott, Katelynn and Karissa Hannon, Jonathan and Katherine Appleton; great-grandchildren Cayson and Jaxson Malone. She is also survived by nieces Amie (Auricchio) Bart and Kessa Simmons, and known as "Nana" to so many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will be Friday in the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Contributions in Laurie's memory may be made to Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation, 25 Highland Avenue, Newburyport, MA 01950 in support of the Blood Bank please reference Laurie M.
