Laurice Zefta

Laurice (Khoury) Zefta, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in 1938, one of four children, Laurice moved from Lebanon to the United States to be with her children. Wherever she was, she carried herself with quiet grace. She was gentle and elegant in everything she did, kind and generous to all she met, and she never spoke or acted in a way that hurt another soul.

While in full health, Laurice stood beside her husband, Henri, helping at Maria's Restaurant. She greeted everyone with the same warmth she showed her family.

Her children were her entire world. She asked nothing for herself, only that her children and grandchildren always be nearby. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She looked forward to their phone calls and visits, and nothing brought her more joy than hearing their voices and having them close.

Laurice leaves behind her children, Marie and her late husband Zaki, Issa and his wife Alicia, Kamal and his wife Leydy and Jamal; her grandchildren Heba, Hanan, Ameed, Austin and Lauren; her great-grandchildren, Laura, Maria, Julie, and Jimmy. She was preceded in death by her husband Henri in 2023; her son in-law, Zaki; and her three siblings Alice, Elias and Helen

She will be remembered for her tenderness, her generosity and kindness that always put her family first.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday in St. Joseph Melkite Church, 341 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, MA 01841 at 11:00 AM. Please meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
