HAVERHILL - Laura Elizabeth LoRusso, 100, formerly of San Antonio, FL and East Providence, RI, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA.

She was born in Johnston, RI on June 28, 1918, the youngest daughter of the late Leonardo and Ida (LaBanca) LoRusso. She graduated from Central High School in Providence, RI, pursued an education and career in fashion design in New York City. She also was in the entertainment field as well as pursuing a singing career working in night clubs in New York City during the 1940s. She retired at the age of 62 having been a self-employed seamstress. Following retirement she remained active working as a hospital volunteer as well as broadcasting. She had a passion for current events, was an avid reader, and was often regarded as a "walking encyclopedia" by family.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Esther, Yolanda and Ann. She is survived by daughter, Anita Trennes of Haverhill, MA, 2 nieces, Patricia Hall of Albany, NY, Laura Gorman of New Port Richey, FL, nephews, Charles Gangi of Cranston, RI and Thomas Della Rocco of Franklyn, NY as well as several great-nieces, great-great nephews and one great-great niece.
