HAVERHILL- Larry Ennis, 70, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, May 14, 2013 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Mr. Ennis was born in Boston on August 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Frederick and Blanche (Thibodeau) Ennis. He grew up in Jamaica Plain. The family moved to Haverhill when Larry was 12 where he attended St. James Grammar and Middle School as well as Haverhill High School.
He was the cherished husband of the late Charlotte A. (Rogers) Ennis, who passed away March 15, 2013 after almost 45 years of marriage.
Larry was the Senior Supply Agent for the Haverhill School Department for 25 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a United States Army veteran, where he served during the Vietnam War. Larry lived a very simple life, he loved traveling with his family and extended family over the years and he cherished his trips to Las Vegas with Charlotte. His face was a familiar one as he coached youth baseball for many years but Larry found the most joy in life during the times that he spent with his family and friends, especially his three granddaughters.
In addition to his many friends he leaves his loving sons, Shaun J. Ennis and his wife Catherine of Portsmouth, NH and Keith J. Ennis and his wife Melissa of Haverhill. His three granddaughters Grace, Ashley and Amber. His sister Colleen Patenaude of New York and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Diana Haga, Arthur, his twin Leonard and Frederick Ennis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, May 18, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Bradford at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill. Visiting hours will be held Friday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street (Rte. 125), Bradford, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Courtesy local transportation to the visitation will be provided on request by calling Driscoll Funeral Home at 978-374-0000.
