Obituary

An Officer and a Gentleman

Kenton was one of the lucky ones who accomplished his dreams he set out to fulfill as a young man. In 1951 he met the woman with whom he would spend the next 71 years of his life with, Rosemarie. He dreamed to have a family which he could be involved with and proud of. He was a truly devoted husband, amazing father to Lisa, David and Julie, and loving grandfather to Ryan, Jaden, Delane, Erik, Isak and Shanti. As a young man growing up in Northern Maine he dreamed of airplanes, flying and becoming a pilot, eventually spending 5 years in the US Air Force, including 2 years in Japan. He also had a passion for transportation and once hanging up his wings, worked in the trucking industry for many years. He never gave up his love for flying though, often sitting in the backyard of his Lexington home identifying planes on approach to Logan Airport, or taking his kids to watch planes landing and taking off at nearby Hanscom Field.

His family was of most importance to him though. From the day the kids were born, he was a very involved dad. His children fondly remember family trips to North Conway, NH to the cabin in the woods, spending summers at Salisbury Beach in our travel trailer, and weekend trips to Cape Cod. Everything Kenton planned was a great adventure and a source of many happy memories. He was eager to volunteer for his children's class outings and chaperoned many a trip where he was known as "Mr. Sod." He was also involved in Boy Scouts Troop 160 and loved certifying scouts for the Aviation and Transportation merit badges.

Most beautiful though was his undying devotion to his wife of 62 years. He did this selflessly and with pure love, right down to the evening before his passing. Kenton, Dad, Papa and Farfar. You will never be forgotten. May you fly again…

The family of Kenton are planning a Celebration of Life ceremony in the late Spring. Please include your email address when signing, and we will send you information when the event will occur. Thank you all for your kind words and blessings.
