HAVERHILL - It is with profound sorrow that the Callahan Family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Kathleen A. Callahan.
Kathy passed away surrounded and embraced by her loving family on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Kathleen was born on April 5, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of Annette (Bianci) and Theodore Valinote. She attended St. Helena's Grammar School and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia. She then entered the real estate field. Subsequently, she transitioned to become Director of Medical Staff Services at St. Mary's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. It was there she met her future husband while he was a surgical resident. Kathy and Dan were married in St. Helena Church in Philadelphia on January 12, 1985 and settled in Bradford, MA. Kathy then managed her husband's private practice until children began arriving after which she assumed her ultimate career as a mother to her six children and "Mimi" to her five grandchildren.
Kathy loved her home at Seabrook Beach and was a devoted fan of Eddie Money and Teddy Pendergrass.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dr. Daniel F. Callahan, daughters Kara A. Callahan, MD and husband Matthew, Victoria M. Callahan and husband, Domenic, Alyssa K. Callahan and husband Andrew and Caitlin O. Callahan; son Daniel F. Callahan; grandchildren Hunter, Tanner, Faith, Andrew and Matthew; her parents; sister Lori; and many nieces and nephews. She was sadly predeceased by her cherished daughter Nicole A. Callahan in 2014.
The family would like the thank Dr. Maurice Cohen, Dr. Phyllis Spieler and Dr. Pedro Sanz-Altamira as well as the nurses on H-2 and H-4 and ICU at Lawrence General Hospital. Especially Chris Lees for their compassionate care.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 31, in All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10:30 AM. Please meet directly at the church. Available parking in the church's parking lot on Blaisdell Street. Private interment will take place. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill.
