We are sad to announce the passing of Kathleen (McGrath) Breton of Groveland. Kathleen, known to many as Kathy or Kate, passed away on June 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born on May 7, 1947, in Newburyport to the late George and Margaret McGrath of West Newbury. She graduated from Pentucket Regional High School in 1965 and attended McIntosh Business School.
Kathy worked for many years in the medical field and retired after 25 years with Northeast Dermatology.
The greatest joy in Kathy’s life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, working in her yard, hosting dinner parties, and spending February vacations in Siesta Key, FL, with friends and family. Shopping was one of her greatest passions, and she had a special love for clothes. She also enjoyed playing Words With Friends, always hoping to keep her mind sharp.
Kathy was a devoted member of St. Patrick Church and Sacred Hearts Parish. Her strong faith helped her through many health challenges, including being a two-time breast cancer survivor.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Edward; her beloved sons Geoffrey and his wife Cara of Salem, NH and Stephen and his wife Elizabeth of Belchertown. She leaves behind the loves of her life, her grandchildren: grandsons Philip and Matthew, and granddaughters Chloe and Bridget.
She is also survived by her sister and best friend Mary Consoli and her husband Maurice of Groveland. Kathy was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Burke of New Milford, CT. She also leaves eight nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear and supportive friends.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at High Pointe House for their compassionate care, support, and kindness during Kathy’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
