Kathleen
Booth
March 5, 1961 – January 7, 2025
SURRY, ME: Kathleen Haggerty Booth, 63, passed away suddenly at her home on January 7, 2025. She was the wife of William R. Booth to whom she was married for 43 years.
Born in Taunton, MA on March 5, 1961, she was the daughter of Grace (Enos) Haggerty and the late James Haggerty.
Although living in Surry, her hometown of Taunton still held a special place in her heart because of her best friend Diane.
Bill and Kathy started their 43-year Odessey while she was a student at Green Mountain College, and following their many travels, they moved to Surry when Kathy found solitude and quiet that gave her great peace. Over the years their family consisted of twelve dogs and two adopted cats. Kathy would take the dogs everywhere and was known as the "crazy dog lady" when taking them to pick up pellets. Kathy was well known to all, a constant surprise to Bill when he would return from work travel and run into people who would constantly say "Oh, so you're Kathy's husband"!
Kathy "retired" early, a standing joke between she and Bill. They both blamed the phone service – somehow when Bill said go ahead and quit your job, it came out on her end as "retire."
Besides her husband and mother, Kathy is survived by her sister, Mary Sundeen, of FL. Kathy was the sister of the late James Haggerty.
Arrangements under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830 will be private. In memory of Kathy, Bill asks that you please hug those close to you, do not be afraid to say you love each other, SMILE, and say hi to people. Please plant flowers and spread kindness.
