Obituary

SALISBURY - Joseph S. Zappala, 75, passed away at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a long illness. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

He was born in Lawrence and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He was a member of the Musician's Guild. Joseph was an avid traveler, performer and a gifted musician who played professionally for over 25 years. He was a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was a Stan Spector, Alan Dawson trained musician. Joseph was a man of many talents and creative endeavors. He lived his life to play the drums and shared his gift by playing and teaching popular entertainers all over the world. Joseph enjoyed listening to his extensive collection of jazz and blues at home.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Doreen; sister in-law Tammy and fiancé Terry; good friend Tina; sister Diane Wekelo and husband Joseph; many nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his parents, Doreen's parents and siblings Jerry and Maria and her husband Gary Miles.
