Haverhill: Jose Luz Hernandez, 57, died August 25, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mr. Hernandez was the husband of Teresa (Cabrera) Hernandez.

Born in Mexico on March 18, 1954, Mr. Hernandez was the son Vicente and Consuelo (Yturvero) Hernandez.

Mr. Hernandez was educated in Mexico, and he, and his wife, immigrated to California in 1973 where he worked in the farm

industry. In 1997 they moved to Massachusetts and worked in the construction industry. He was an avid sports fan who

enjoyed following the Mexican soccer league and the San Francisco Giants.

Besides his wife of thirty years, Mr. Hernandez is survived by his sons, Jose Hernandez and his wife Fabiola, Juan Carlos Hernandez and his wife Karen, Armando Hernandez and Ricardo Hernandez, all of Haverhill; five grandchildren; brothers, Refulio Jaramillo and his wife Maria, Nicholas Jaramillo, both of Mexico, Santos Jaramillo and his wife Unis and Rafael Jaramillo, both of Haverhill; sister, Martha Hernandez and her husband Alvaro of Sacramento, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church. Calling hours on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment at Linwood Cemetery.
