Haverhill: John R. Wholley, 53, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Merrimack Valley Hospital.

Born in Haverhill on November 9, 1956, John was the son of the late Richard F. and Joan (Russ) Wholley.

John graduated from Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1974, and worked thereafter as a printer, ultimately becoming a printing foreman at Journeyman Press in Newburyport for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Leanne Wholley of Bradford; sisters, Rebecca Nordengren of Methuen, Rachael Gallagher and Marsha D'Arrigo, both of Bradford; brothers, Michael Wholley and Richard Wholley, both of Haverhill, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. He fought a great fight but left us too quickly and will be sadly missed by all.

Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill will be private. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to Brigham& Women's Hospital, 116 Huntington Avenue, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02116.
