Ouellette
October 5, 1930 – September 24, 2014
Haverhill: John N. Ouellette, 83, passed away on September 24, 2014 at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley. He was the husband of the late Christia A. (Leavitt) Ouellette.
Born in Lawrence on October 5, 1930, John was the son of the late John B. and Irene E. (Martin) Ouellette.
John graduated from Lawrence Central Catholic, Class of 1948. At a later date he also attended the North Bennet Street School in Boston where he studied cabinetry. John's career in the machine industry began at The Davis & Fueber Machine Co., he then worked as a calibration technician on the Apollo Space Program while working for RCA, and retired in 1995 from Agfa Corp.
John served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps before is Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant in 1954. John was a former member of Holy Angles Church and the Elks Lodge #165 in Haverhill. He was a hobbyist who enjoyed model airplanes. He enjoyed drawing, woodworking and entertaining family and friends playing the ukulele.
John is survived by his three children, John M. Ouellette and wife Suzanne of Haverhill, Dawn M. Marchand and husband Paul of Haverhill, Douglas E. Ouellette of Jamestown, RI; grandchildren, Danielle Despins, Sarah Ouellette, Christia Ouellette, Scott Marchand, Eric Marchand, Shawn Ouellette, Kyle Ouellette, Megan Ouellette; 7 great grandchildren; his last surviving sibling, Sister Antoinette Ouellette of Lawrence; special friend Arline Olds of Salem, NH and several nieces and nephews. John was the brother of the late Henry Ouellette and Theresa Wrigley.
Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial service on Saturday, October 4th, at 11:00 a.m., at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment, with full military honors, to follow at Maplewood North Parish Cemetery. Donations in John's name may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241, or the American Lung Assoc., 460 Totten Pond Rd., #400, Waltham, MA 02451.
