MIDDLETOWN, DE: John "Chuck" Kahigian, 86, formerly of Haverhill, died peacefully at his home on October 4, 2016.

Born March 22, 1930 in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Zakar and Hiagunoosh (Tomasian) Kahigian.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy (Brown) Kahigian; brothers, Markas and Sarkis; sister, Twanda (Kahigian) Garabedian.

Chuck graduated from Haverhill schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed at the former Western Electric for 33 years prior to his retirement. Chuck enjoyed the horses at Delaware Park as well as the many "road trips" to Ft. Lauderdale, FL with his beloved wife Nancy. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandsons as "gee".

Chuck is survived by his daughters, Dr. Gaynelle Kahigian (Dr. Helen Garton) of Middletown, DE, Gale Donovan (David) of Old Orchard Beach, ME; twin grandsons, Matthew and Kyle Donovan, of Greenville, NC; and his favorite nephew, Peter Kahigian (Elaine) of Haverhill.

Relative and friends are invited to the funeral on Tuesday, October 11th, at 1:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Linwood Cemetery.
