Obituary

BRADFORD - John Angstrom, 76, of Bradford, passed away on August 27, 2014 at Sutton Hill Rehabilitation Center in North Andover.

John was born in Elizabeth, NJ, son of the late Roy and Jennie Angstrom on May 2, 1938. He graduated from Union High School in Union, NJ and joined the United States Navy shortly after graduation. John retired from the Navy and the United States Coast Guard after serving for 21 years. He continued working as a LPN for several years locally.

His activities included reading, writing, cooking, camping, playing pool, but most importantly enjoyed the time spent with his family.

John is survived by his loving children, Tim Angstrom and wife Sharon Angstrom of Bradford, Heather Cook and her husband Robert Cook of Danvers; grandchildren, Zack and Spencer Angstrom and Emily, Sarah and Parker Cook; sister, Nancy Smialowicz, and husband Dennis of West Milford, NJ; nephew Don Smialowicz and his wife Tati of MD; niece, Amy McCarter and husband Patrick of NC; great-nieces and great-nephews, Riley and Taylor Smialowicz and Adelaide, Grady, Mabel and Elias McCarter; former wife Jane Angstrom of Danvers, with whom he maintained a lasting friendship.

His funeral will be held Wednesday morning, September 3, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main Street, Bradford at 11:00 AM. United States Navy Honors will be rendered following his Mass.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday in the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
