HAVERHILL: Jeffrey A. Russell, 62, passed away on March 23, 2020 at Wingate Residences at Haverhill. He is survived by Anne M. Woodward, his life partner of thirty-five years.
Born in Columbus, OH on September 3, 1957, he was the son of Richard A. Russell of Ohio, and the late Marjorie (Leaning) Russell.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Muskingum College he entered Yale University where he earned his Masters and PhD degree in Chemistry, and completed Post-Doctoral studies at Howard University in Washington, DC. Jeffrey worked as a research scientist at Avco, Candela, and Physical Sciences in Andover, with a particular interest in laser research.
Jeffrey was a faithful volunteer at Emmaus, Inc., and pursued his interest in cycling as a participant in their Cycle for Shelter. He also had a passion for genealogy, and spent countless hours of research in Special Collections at the Haverhill Public Library.
Besides Anne Woodward, Jeffrey is survived by his brothers, Stephen Russell, Scott Russell and wife Janice, both of Ohio; sister, Suzanne Durfey and husband Lance of Tupper Lake, NY.
