Papia
January 7, 1936 – July 19, 2021
HAMPSTEAD, NH: James A. Papia, 85, formerly of Haverhill and Fort Myers, FL, was called home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2021 while surrounded in the love of his family.
Born in Waltham on January 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Sarre L. and Mary M. (McIntosh) Papia.
For many years Jim owned his own business before joining an environmental company as Project Manager.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church in Haverhill for thirty years where he served as a Deacon, and member of the Prudential Committee. For several years, during Haverhill's Fourth of July Festival, Jim organized the church's chili booth and gospel tent. While living in Florida Jim attended Southwest Baptist Church.
Jim went by many names; Love, Dad, Jim, Grampy, Bampy, and Great Grampy. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Melinda Ann Papia; children, James A. Papia, Jr. and wife Maureen, Lawrence Papia and wife Beth, Gregory Papia and wife Debbie, Christine Spellman and husband Bob, Jonathan R. St. Pierre, Sr. and wife Ann, Cynthia Asloglou and husband Manny, Steven St. Pierre, Sr. and wife Carol, and son of the heart Richard Nolan and wife Peggy; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren. Jim will be met in heaven by his grandson, Jonathan R. St. Pierre, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 22 th from 2:00–4:00 pm, and 6:00–8:00pm at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. A celebration of life funeral service will be conducted on Friday 10:00AM at First Baptist Church, 217 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment to follow at Linwood Cemetery.
