HAVERHILL: James P. McIver, 74, passed away at his home, on November 11, 2022 following several years of declining health. He was the husband of Christine (Venturo) McIver to whom he had been married for forty-five years.

Born in Lynn, MA on September 2, 1948, he was the son of the late Cletus McIver and Marie (Hughes) Caron.

Upon graduating from St. Mary's of Lynn High School, Jim continued his education, graduating from Providence College in 1970 with a degree in history.

Jim's work career spanned 40 years, beginning as an ash handler, and through proven and demonstrated achievement, advanced to plant manager for Waste Management in Saugus. Through his work in Saugus, Jim was engaged in many civic groups and projects and was recognized as Saugus Businessman of the Year. Jim was an avid golfer and for many years was a faithful member of the Haverhill Country Club. He was a voracious reader and would read as much as he could, whenever he could.

Besides his wife Chris, Jim is survived by his loving daughters; Colleen Simoes and her husband Chad of Haverhill, Maura Custar and her husband Daniel of North Andover, Erin Bradshaw, and her husband Brian of Westford; grandchildren, Luke James, Ryan, Benjamin James, Jack, Joseph James, Connor, and Maeve; sister, Elaine Pedro of Danvers.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, November 16 ^th at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Bradford to be followed by interment at Linwood Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill.
