HAVERHILL - Our beloved Jacquelyn (Steinmetz) Purpura passed away peacefully in Haverhill, on September 30, 2021 at the age of 80 years old, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Scranton, PA to Philip and Esther Steinmetz. Jacquelyn attended nursing school in her early years and was a stay-at-home mother to her beloved family whom she cherished. She was a great cook and Sunday dinners were an integral part of her family life. She was sweet with a mild temperament and loved traveling to California and Las Vegas with the love of her life, Anthony J. Purpura, Jr., whom she shared 43 years of marriage.  Jacquelyn was a true peacemaker and a good source of positivity. Her greatest attribution was being a wonderful mother to her five children.

Jacquelyn is predeceased by her son Daniel Purpura, who passed away in 1969 and her husband Anthony J. Purpura, Jr. who passed away in 2002.

She is survived by her children Darlene Doyle of North Andover, Kathleen Manzi and husband George of Bradford, Anthony Purpura, III of Methuen and Cheryl Purpura and her fiancé Richard Goodwin of Bradford. She is also survived by her siblings Catherine Dater of Marietta, Georgia and Richard Steinmetz of San Diego, California. Her adored grandchildren include Toni Marie Doyle of Haverhill, Brian Privitera of Haverhill, Joseph Manzi of Danville, NH, George Manzi, Jr. of Sandown, NH, Anthony Purpura of Haverhill, Danielle Giordano of Methuen, Daniel Purpura of Revere, Stephanie Clark of Sandown, NH, Stephen Purpura of Bridgewater, and Leanne Dupont of Bradford. She also leaves several great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Jacquelyn's Life will be held on Thursday, October 7, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in a private family service in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
