PLAISTOW, NH: Irene M. (Durgin) Browne, 83, died suddenly Dec. 18th at her home. Mrs. Browne was the wife of the late Russell O. Browne. Born in Groveland October 10, 1923, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Edwin C.M. and Flora M. (Randall) Browne.

Mrs. Browne graduated from Groveland High School class of 1941. She lived in Groveland for eighteen years before moving to Plaistow in 1954. She was a member of the East Hampstead Union Church, and the North Parish Grange. Mrs. Browne had been employed as a production worker for the former Western Electric until 1964, had been employed eleven years at the former Parke-Snows before retiring in 1982, and most recently, had worked as a Teacher's Aid at the Pollard School in Plaistow. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed all types of crafts.

She is survived by her son; Dennis R. Browne and his wife Mary of Newport Richey, FL, brother; Robert I. Durgin and his wife Alice of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jennie Auclair.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday 10:00 at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Plaistow Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
