HAVERHILL - Ioannis Papazacharias, 61, longtime Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Ioannis was born in Agios Vasileios, Greece on December 19, 1958, son of the late Evangelos and Vasiliki Papazacharias. When he immigrated to the U.S. he began a tiling business, Pappas and Sons and worked for many years throughout the area. He raised a loving family with his wife Helen. Ioannis activities included many things from making wine, music, dancing, gardening, spending time with family and friends, above all he was the most passionate about hunting. He was a member of the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill. Ioannis will always be remembered as a generous man that was full of life and energy and the life of the party.

Surviving family members include his cherished wife Helen Papazacharias; sons Evangelos Papazacharias, Peter Papazacharias and Vasilis Papazacharias; siblings Marika Dimaki and husband Panagiotis, Sofia Pagiasli and husband Thomas, Eleni Paltoglou, Harilaos Papazacharias and wife Konstantina all living in Greece; in-laws Peter and Mary Gioldasis; sister in-law Toula Galatas and family and brother in-law Costa Gioldasis and family; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; adored goddaughter Georgia Panakis MacKenzie.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 7, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial services will take place in Greece. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his family. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
