Obituary

NEWBURYPORT - Henry R. Kiman, 85, loving husband of the late Claire (Toomey) Cooper Kiman, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester following a brief illness.

Born in Newburyport on July 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Orzachwska) Kiman. He was raised in Newburyport where he attended public schools. Henry was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed watching TV, particularly cheering on the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and the Red Sox. Monday nights were spent watching WWE wrestling. Henry was a master at assembling some of the most challenging puzzles. He and Claire enjoyed traveling to places such as Aruba and Hawaii. But most of all they loved spending time with their family in their backyard hosting cookouts and swimming in their pool.

In addition to his late wife, Henry's surviving family members include his children, Henry Kiman, Jr. of Salisbury, Gina Cox and husband Jim of Brentwood, NH, Michael Kiman and wife Donna of Seabrook, NH; step-children, Cindy Cooper and fiancé Steve Garvin of North Berwick, ME, Nancy Bodwell and husband James of Ipswich, and Ken Cooper and wife Bunnie of New Market, NH. Known as Dazu, he leaves grandchildren, Taryn Marshall, Elizabeth Kiman, Madison Kiman, Jeremy Davis, James Bodwell, III and wife Brittney, Allison Papaefthemiou and husband Sam, Dan Cooper, and Amy Cooper; also many great-grandchildren; siblings, Fran, Matt and wife Nancy; and several nieces and nephews; grandfather of the late Heather (Davis) Levesaque and brother of the late Mary, Mike, Stacey, Anna, Josie, Stan, Ben, and Louie. Graveside services for Henry will be private and held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Hospice Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
