HAVERHILL: Hazel L. Sturtevant, 80, wife of the late Robert C. Sturtevant, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill with her daughter at her side.

Born in Coeburn, VA on February 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Louise (Mutter) Hensley.

Hazel was educated in Virginia, and shorty after graduation joined the U. S. Army and served with the WAC DET USAGAR at Ft. Leonard Wood. It was during this time in the military that Hazel met her husband.

Following her marriage she remained at home before starting her working career that spanned many years. Hazel retired in 2006 having worked ten years as a home health aid for the VNA of Merrimack Valley.

Hazel split her time between her home in Haverhill and a small retirement community in Port Richey, FL.

The oldest of twelve children, Hazel is survived by her daughter Deborah Sturtevant of Charlotte, NC
