NEWTON, NH: G. Scott Laing, 68, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2021 at Exeter Hospital. Scott was the husband of Karen (Smith) Laing.

Born in Haverhill on February 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Donald K. and Constance "Connie" (Holt) Laing.

Following his graduation from Pentucket Regional High School Scott attended Northern Essex, and went on to graduate from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Scott's career as a real estate appraiser spanned thirty-five years while working for the King Davis Agency in Haverhill, MA and Kraft Appraisers in Bedford, NH. Scott's passion for surfing developed over many years in areas to include Straws Points and The Wall in NH, Ogunquit, ME, California and Mexico. Scott genuinely valued his time outdoors while fishing, canoeing and camping in places like Lake Umbagog in NH.

Besides his wife of 41 years, Karen, Scott is survived by his daughter Ashlei Laing of TN; son, Scott G. Laing and his wife Laura of CA; siblings, Geoffrey C. Laing of Plaistow, Nancy E. Laing of Plaistow; nieces and nephews, Ben, Sandy, Taylor and Kelsea. Scott was the brother of the late Gregory H. Laing.

Arrangements under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill will be private with interment at Linwood Cemetery.
