GROVELAND - Frederick T. Shea, 89, of Groveland and longtime resident of Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of the late Maryesther Shea (Fellows), and the loving father of Kevin T. Shea and his wife Mary Ellen of Bradford and Cheryl A. Mielcarek and her husband Charles of Haverhill. He was the greatest Papa ever to the greatest granddaughters ever, Colleen and Erin Shea. He was brother of the late David Shea of Somerville, and the late Mary Vautrain of Hemet, CA.

Fred was a vibrant presence at Nichols Village in Groveland, and he could often be found playing pool with his buddies or coordinating a bingo game. He doted on his granddaughters, attending every ballet recital, school play, and cheerleading competition. He loved going out for a great steak dinner, watching his Red Sox and Patriots win, and spending time with the ones he loved. His friendliness and humor were contagious, and he will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Services will begin on Monday morning in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church , 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow in Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading. Please note to wear face coverings and social distancing measures will be in place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of his beloved wife Maryesther at www.act.alz.org/donate
