Obituary

LAWRENCE - Frederick Joseph Geddis, previously from New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home on Sunday, September 11, 2016, due to a long battle with dementia. He was 76 years old.

Beloved husband and best friend of over 40 years to the late Barbara Ann Geddis. He is survived by his cherished sons Jason and wife Stefanie of Mansfield, MA, Christopher of Neptune City NJ, and Justin and wife Kerry of Boxford, MA. Fred was the loving grandfather to granddaughter Peyton, and grandsons Colby and Jackson. He was born in Montclair, NJ, the son of late Thomas and Mildred Geddis. Growing up, he was an avid baseball player, earning league MVP honors at age 16 in the Pequannock Jr. Baseball Division. He was a devoted family man, who was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, watching the NY Yankees and Giants, and enjoying the company of family and friends, most importantly, his best friend William Jones. Later in life, he was a favorite of the nurses and staff of Mary Immaculate, sharing smiles and jokes on a daily basis. He will be dearly missed by all.

Celebration of Fred's Life will be held on Thursday, September 15, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Fred will be laid to rest on Friday morning, in Linwood Cemetery, Mill Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM.
