Frederick M.
Faulkner
April 8, 1935 – August 25, 2019
WEST NEWBURY - Frederick M. Faulkner, Jr., of West Newbury, died on Sunday, August 25, 2019, due to complications from surgery after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in Haverhill in 1935 to Frederick M. Faulkner, Sr. and Arlene (Maynard). Fred was educated in Haverhill, class of 1953, and earned a BS in Accounting from Northeastern University. He served in the Army as a Military Policeman and then worked for 42 years at Western Electric/Lucent Technologies as a Business Analyst. He served on the Board of Assessors for the Town of West Newbury, volunteered for the town Little League, the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Saggahew Lodge Masonic Order.
Following retirement, Fred worked part time for the Town of West Newbury in a variety of roles always happy to offer a wave of hello or a friendly, "how you doing?" greeting to friends and newcomers. He enjoyed many other endeavors in retirement including traveling to visit family, working out and socializing at the gym, dining out, attending sporting events and activities of his grandchildren, and the occasional (ok, more than occasional) trips to Foxwoods. Most of all, he enjoyed his 59 years of marriage to Jacquelyn (Lariviere) and the many social interactions they had with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Jacquelyn (Lariviere); children and their spouses Frederick III (Lisa) of Westminster, CO, Keith (Ellen) of Beverly, MA, Andrea Brown (Dave) of Golden, CO, John (Melanie) of Stratham, NH and Todd (Maureen) of Burlington, NJ; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He adored all of his grandkids, who affectionately referred to him as "Bumpa". He is also survived by his brother Bob (Dianne), his sister in-law Katherine, and his stepmother Julia Faulkner. Fred was predeceased by his parents Fred and Arlene, and his brother Howard.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Friday in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial with U.S. Army Honors will follow in Merrimack Cemetery, Pleasant Street, West Newbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Research for Children or to the charity of your choice. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
