HAVERHILL - Frank J. Azzarito, 85, lifelong Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Haverhill on February 13, 1934, son of the late Frank and Angelina (Costantino) Azzarito and was a graduate from Haverhill Trade School.
Frank is veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served his country proudly with the 332d Fighter Interceptor Squadron during Korea. When he returned home, he met and fell in love with his cherished wife Carole G. Cusano. They were married in 1960 and began their family together, raising their 3 daughters in Haverhill.
He worked as a skilled tradesman at Western Electric in No. Andover until his retirement. Frank was a faithful person, having been an active member of the former St. Rita Church, serving as the President of the Holy Name Society and parishioner of All Saints Parish. His activities included recreational bowling and golf leagues, cheering on his daughters at their sporting events, softball, hockey and basketball and traveled extensively with his wife during retirement. Longtime member of the Victor Emanuel Sons of Italy Lodge of Haverhill and an organizer of Haverhill's Italian Brotherhood. Most of all he was a family man, caring greatly for his wife, children, and granddaughter. Frank will be truly missed.
His surviving family members in addition to his devoted wife Carole include his loving daughters Andrea Azzarito of North Wakefield, NH, Christina Azzarito of Sanford, ME and Linda Azzarito of York, ME; adored granddaughter Lucia Belleveau-Azzarito; brother in-law Giuseppe Azzarito; other family members Amy Lowell and Dawn Belleveau; many nieces, nephews and cherished friends; brother of the late Dominic Azzarito, Angelina Lepo and Antoinette Azzarito.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 2, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Services will begin Monday morning in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
