HAVERHILL: Florence L. (Stuart) Wheeler, 92, died August 10th at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Wheeler was the wife of the late Claude Wheeler.

Born in Haverhill on September 18, 1915, Mrs. Wheeler was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Winifred C. (Webster) Stuart.

Mrs. Wheeler's work career spanned many years and included Liberty Shoe, Eastern Canvas, both in Haverhill, Hytron in Newburyport prior to her retirement. She then worked for a brief time at Mal's Department Store. Mrs. Wheeler was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir.

Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her children Bernice Leavitt of Haverhill, Laura Travers of ME, Wayne Wheeler and his wife Diane of Danville, NH, Gerald Wheeler and his wife Elaine of Sandy, UT, and Claude Wheeler of Orlando, FL; nineteen grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David Wheeler.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
