HAVERHILL: Eva C. (Gardner) Dawkins, 80, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2014 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded be her loving sons. Mrs. Dawkins was the wife of the late James S. Dawkins.

Born in Haverhill on June 7, 1933, Mrs. Dawkins was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Eunice E. (Ricard) Gardner.

Eva was a lifelong resident of Haverhilland attended Haverhill High School. While raising her family she worked part-time for twenty years as a shipping clerk at the former Samuel Roberts & Co before her retirement in 1998. Eva enjoyed baking, and bowling as a member of the St. Joseph's Bowling League.

She is survived by her family, Tracy A. Dawkins and wife Sharon of Exeter, NH, James A. Dawkins and wife Terry, Cynthia Minichello and husband David of Haverhill, Lance A. Dawkins; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David A. Gardner, and sister of the late Jean Hume.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
