HAVERHILL: Ethel M. (Leavitt) Benenato, 75, died Thursday at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Benenato was the wife of the late Paul Benenato.

Born in Wakefield, MA on April 17, 1934, Mrs. Benenato was the daughter of the late Elwyn and Ethel (Lassel) Leavitt.

Following her graduation form Endicott College she earned her degree as a registered nurse, and worked fifteen years at Beth Israel Hospital. She was devoted to her family and found great joy with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Benenato is survived by her children, Paul J. Benenato and his wife Annett of Plymouth, MA, David A. Benenato of Haverhill, Andrew P. Benenato and his wife Alcira of Haverhill, and Jennifer C. Herlihy and her husband William of Haverhill; seven grandchildren; brothers, Elwyn Leavitt and his wife Phyllis of FL, Earl Leavitt and wife Norma of NH, Clifford Leavitt and wife Donnalee of Wakefield, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carol and Calvin Leavitt and Elizabeth Robinson.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Monday, 11:00 a.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. At the family request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
