Obituary

HAVERHILL: Ethel M. (Brown) Buckland, 83, died Friday morning, Feb. 5th, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House. Mrs. Buckland was the wife of Robert E. Buckland.

Born in Haverhill on November 24, 1926, Mrs. Buckland was the daughter of the late Howard W. and Anna (Willett) Brown.

Educated in Haverhill, Mrs. Buckland graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1944. She retired as a tax examiner from the Internal Revenue Service after thirty years of service. Mrs. Buckland was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and sang in the choir. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed listening to music.

Beside her husband of sixty-four years she is survived by her children, Shawn Buckland and his wife Mary Ellen of Merrimac, MA, Lisa Tabor of Anson, ME, Cullen Buckland and his wife Sheila of Malden, MA and three grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert W. Buckland and Derek L. Buckland, and sister of the late Arlene "Sweetie" Bouvier and Elaine Superbi.

Friends are invited to attend the memorial service, Tuesday Feb. 9th at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. At the family's request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 26 White Street, Haverhill, MA 01830, or the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
