HAVERHILL - Elizabeth (Bette) Jean (Coffen) Klein, 73, longtime Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Elizabeth was born on her Grandmother Raches farm in West Newbury on December 18, 1940. Daughter of the late Raymond and Jean (Currier) Coffen. Growing up, Elizabeth was very proud of her father's accomplishments within the City of Newburyport where she was raised. He was a builder of cabin cruisers, and owned and operated the first Port Motel, a place Elizabeth always held dear. Her activities included jewelry collecting, a field she was very knowledgeable in.

Her surviving family members include her loving children, Jason Klein of Amesbury and Debbie and husband Dickie Mason of Haverhill; grandson William; great-granddaughter Rheya; many nieces and nephews; cousin Patty St. Jean of Nevada; lifetime friend Donna Adams of Newburyport and close friend Helen MacIntyre and husband Hunka of Amesbury; adored sister of the late Walter Coffen.

Services will be privately held.
