GROVELAND: Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Austin) Lewis, 86, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born on January 21, 1926, Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Manson) Austin. Following her graduation from Haverhill High School Betty joined the former Western Electric where she worked several years as a supervisor prior to retiring. She was a member of the former First Congregational Church.

Betty liked to ski and golf, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. During the winter Betty would travel to her home in Seminole, FL.

The youngest of six children, Betty is survived by her sister, JoAnne Weidner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nieces and nephews, Dianne Sitro and her husband Robert of Haverhill, Thalia S. Marino and her husband Ronald of Atkinson, Jane Journeay and her husband Carlton of Newburyport, John Austin of Southerland, MA, Anne Shanahan of Atlanta, GA, Kimberly Fontaine and her husband David of Chelmsford, A. Jeffrey Weidner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Gary Weidner of Chelmsford, Susan Weidner Gouin of Derry, NH, William Dana Austin, Barbara Ann (Austin) Key, Robert Austin, all of TX; several grand nieces and nephews; several cherished great grand nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Peg Austin of TX. She was predeceased by her son Dean M. Lewis, siblings, Walter "Buster" Austin, Natalie Foster, Dana Austin, John Austin, and niece, Betty Ann (Austin) Moody.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral on Thursday, May 17th, at 10:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill followed by interment at Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 8: p.m.
