Obituary

HAVERHILL, MA: Edward T. Tilden, 94, passed away unexpectedly November 18, 2019 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton.
Born in Malden, MA on December 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mabel (Harding) Tilden.
Edward was educated in Malden, and served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps until his honorable discharge as a PFC in 1946. For forty-seven years Edward applied his many skills to a variety of jobs, his last position as custodian for the Timberlane Regional School District. He was a faithful member of Riverside Church where he sang in the choir and served as an usher, and was a member of the American Legion Post 4. He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed making ship models and reading.
Edward is survived by seven children, Anne Pettengill and her husband, Richard, of Exeter, NH, Jane Noyes and her husband, Edward, of Bradenton, FL, James Tilden and his wife, Donna, of Farmville, VA, David Tilden and his wife, Linda, of Sandown, NH, Michael Tilden and his wife, Sandra, of Clarksville, TN, Susan Greco and her husband, Chris, of Sarasota, FL, Steven Tilden and his wife, Beth, of Haverhill; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife of seventy-four years, Marjorie A. Tilden, and his great granddaughter Rebecca Landry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Riverside Church from 10:00 to 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 23rd, to be followed by a 12:00 noon funeral service at Riverside Church.
