CRYSTAL RIVER, FL: Dorothy E. (Richey) Nichols, 91, formerly of West Newbury, passed away August 29, 2008 at Arbor Trail Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Inverness, FL. Dorothy was born in Haverhill to the late Marshall G. and Mary E. (Sutherland) Richey.

She was educated in the Haverhill Public School system graduating from Haverhill High School in 1934. She also attended Bradford Junior College, and Bryant & Stratton in Boston.

She worked for the Haverhill Electric Company, and in the real estate department of The City Five Bank.

Dorothy was a long time member of The St. Elizabeth's Guild of The Trinity Episcopal Church, and The Haverhill Women's City Club. She was also a member of Fidelity Chapter #90, Order of Eastern Star for over fifty years.

She was the beloved wife of the late A. Granville Nichols, and is survived by her daughter, Holly Nichols Privitera and her husband Frederick of Hernando, FL; son, Andrew G. Nichols and his wife Loxley of Baltimore, MD; and three grandchildren, Rachael, Marden and Alexander Nichols.

Friends are invited to a 10:30 a.m. graveside memorial service Friday September 26th at Linwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
