HAVERHILL: Diane D. Whiteley, 79, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2019 at Sutton Hill Center in North Andover, MA. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Whiteley.
Born in Haverhill on October 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Marion (Crockett) Wentworth.
Diane's lengthy work career was focused around Haverhill's bristling shoe industry. She worked as a belt worker at companies to include Bernie Shoe Co., Sinclair Shoe Co. and Styletrend. She was a longtime communicant and faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Diane is survived by her children, Frederick J. Whiteley of Haverhill, Mary Ryzman and her husband Louis of Salem, NH, Richard A. Whiteley, Jr. and his wife Camilla of Haverhill; grandchildren, Richard and Rachael Ryzman, Nathan and Shari Whiteley; siblings, Sheila Brace of Haverhill, Patricia Gallant of Plaistow, NH, Robert Wentworth and his wife Patricia of Freedom, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 9th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Haverhill, and conclude with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Amesbury.
