HAVERHILL - Diana P. Melendy, 84, lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at home with family by her side.

Diana was born on January 26, 1936, daughter of Santo and Frances (Palermo) Gucciardi. She was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1954. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon (Max) and her son Robert (Bob). Diana is survived by her daughter Karen Iacozzi and husband Vincent of Atkinson, NH, daughter Diane Goodman and husband Eric of Hampton, NH and four grandchildren Christopher, Carina, Francesca and Cameron.

Diana worked for and retired from the Haverhill Public School district where she was personal secretary to the Superintendent for 40 years. She was an active member of the Haverhill Women's club and a lifelong member of Saint Rita's and All Saints Parish. After retirement she dedicated herself to family and friends. She loved shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, lunches and breakfasts with friends, trips to Foxwoods and family vacations.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Church , 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, No. Broadway Haverhill. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the health and safety of all wishing to pay respects to Diana is of primary concern. Attendance of the viewing and subsequent service for Diana are not obligatory. We ask that anyone with pre-existing health conditions or may be in contact with person(s) as such reconsider attending. A card, prayer, and other forms of respect would be equally appreciated.
