David W. Bonnell, 75, formerly of Lowell and husband of the late Maureen J. (Comeau) Bonnell, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023 at Academy Manor.

Born in Haverhill, MA on September 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Elvira A. (Ellery) Bonnell.

David was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1966. He continued his education graduating from Northern Essex Community College. David joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany before his honorable discharge as Sergeant in 1971. He

applied his service knowledge while working as a sheet metal fabricator at H&M Metals in Hudson, NH. David's interests included woodworking, carving and, in earlier years, racing dragsters.

David is survived by his sons, Duane A. Bonnell and his partner Rhonda McNeal of Canton, MA, Michael D. Bonnell and his wife Hilary of Burlington, MA; grandchildren, Cameron Bonnell, Madison Bonnell, Brody Bonnell; sister, Judith E. Briscoe and her husband John of CA; brother, Forrest E. Bonnell of Hampstead, NH and several nieces and nephews. David was the brother of the late Staff Sergeant William L. Bonnell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 7:00pm. Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Inurnment at Linwood Cemetery will be private. Messages on condolence may be sent to www.dcsfuneralhome.com
