HAVERHILL: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia L. (Corthell) (Meola) Basiliere, who joined her family in Heaven on August 26, 2022, after a brief illness. She was 69.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Cindi spent several years as a valued employee of the US Postal Service. After her retirement, she devoted herself full time to acting as a caregiver, mother figure, and cheering section to countless loved ones.  She never missed a family gathering and kept her USPS colleagues busy with countless cards she sent for every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion. We will dearly miss her Daylight Savings Time reminders and weather updates, but she won't need an umbrella where she is going. The forecast for her reunion with her beloved mother Arline, and son John, is eternal sunshine.

Cindi is survived by her sisters; Janet Gillis of Texas and Natalie Pineau and husband Steve of California; brothers, Steve Corthell and wife Patty of Haverhill and Fred Corthell and wife Terry of Texas. Her memory will also be cherished by her daughter-in-law Libbyanne Meola and grandchildren Melora and Vincent of Amesbury, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her mother and son, Cindi was predeceased by her sister Nancy Simpkins and brother Robert Corthell.

Cindi was an avid Trekkie and was thrilled to have met her idol, William Shatner. In this spirit, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Trek Federation at www.trekfederation.com/donate/.

Relatives and friends are invited to addend calling hours on Wednesday August 31 ^st from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill.
