HAVERHILL - Cornelius F. Broderick, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Cruise) Broderick with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, Ireland, son of the late William and Debra (Riordan) Broderick. Connie was educated in Ireland and worked on many farms before immigrating to Haverhill in 1949. For his career, he worked as a crew chief and inspector at the Haverhill Gas Company for 35 years and enjoyed the many locations it brought him to throughout Essex County. During his retirement he enjoyed going for long walks throughout Haverhill and socializing with people he met along the way. His family and friends enjoyed listening to his many stories of growing up in "The Old Country." Above all, Connie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Besides his wife, Connie is survived by his children Ann Marie Aumais and her husband Richard and William Broderick and his wife Lisa; granddaughters Bridget, Sarah, Christine, Meaghan, Molly and Caitlin; sister Bridget O'Connor; sister in-law Greta Broderick; brother in-law Jerry O'Connor; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased family members include his siblings Mary Broderick, Hannah Mai O'Connor, Eileen Martin, Kathleen Maroney, Margaret Cleary and Sean and Christy Broderick.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 27, in the Driscoll Funeral Home 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Friday morning in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
